Contacts and information on how to participate

Information on photographic outings. A list of times and dates for outings or events relating to therapeutic photography or to taking photographs for the Mind the Gap exhibition can be found variously on the Meetup website, on this website and on Facebook. Events listed on this website and on Facebook are likely to be less up to date or they will be suggestions, looking for people to respond aye or nay or to make suggestions.
Those listed on the Meetup website are bone fide, scheduled, sure-to-go-ahead events. The problem with this listing is that anyone can sign up. It would be easy to have 10 photographers sign up, none with admitted mental health problems. An anxious person with no photographic experience might well be put off joining the event in that case. However, if I know someone signing up to participate in a therapeutic photography event wishes to be in a group of no more than four, I can limit the numbers. In other words, I can't help you specifically if you don't get in touch with me.
Getting in touch. You can call, although I often don't answer my phone. You can leave a message, although I listen to them even more rarely. You can text. I always see them. So that's a good place to leave a message. You can email. I will usually answer immediately (sometimes I can't answer for several days for BT is a terrible provider). Or you can message through Facebook or simply post on the page.
What you need to bring. A camera if you have one. If not, a phone that takes pictures (I have heard about them!). Or you can borrow a camera. We have two Canon 400D and one Nikon D100 cameras (and lenses, which are essential).
Obviously you are welcome to bring along a full set of Lee graduated, neutral-density filters and filter holder and tripod with Arca-style attachment plate if you have them. I usually just bring my camera (and lenses, which are essential).

The Southside Snappers is a Meetup group based in Glasgow. We mostly photograph in Glasgow and its vicinity. The radius around Glasgow generally extends to about an hour's drive. But occasionally we ventured further and have weekends away. Membership is free. All abilities are welcome.

Mind the Gap exhibition facebook page. It might not tell you as much as this website, but its information might be slightly more up to date. There may even be conversations posted on the page. And it will allow you to communicate through Messenger directly to the exhibition organiser. Also, you can go there to see more of The Little Ones.

Inspiration for The Little Ones project

Slinkachu (or Henrick Sarimo) has been photographing his installations of little folk all over the world for more than a decade. His work has been published in book form, running to four or five volumes now. The older publications can be had on Amazon for only a few pounds!!         https://slinkachu.com      click here for:   Slinkachu

Stevie Spiers likes to create fun humorous scenes with the help of little model railway figures. His images are always family friendly and have been published in several local and national newspapers. His images and calendars are for sale at Glasgow's Merchant Square every Saturday and Sunday.         https://www.steviespiersphotography.com      click here for:   Stevie Spiers
